I’ve been involved with Providence Restaurants since I produced an event called Cooks and Books in 1989. Cooks and Books brought just about every well known American chef to Providence, including Julia Child, Jacques Pepin, Paul Prudhomme, in the five years it ran. Each chef was paired with a local restaurant, and that’s how I got to know my way around the Providence food scene.
